Official – Evelyn Primary School is outstanding
Date: 13 October
A Knowsley primary school is celebrating after receiving its second successive excellent inspection report from the schools watchdog Ofsted.
In its report from Ofsted, Evelyn Community Primary School in Prescot was rated as outstanding, for the second time running.
According to Ofsted, Parents of the children who attend Evelyn Primary feel “privileged” that their children attend Evelyn and in particular, commended the school for ‘Its exceptional staff and inventive curriculum which is designed to stimulate and motivate all pupils whatever their ability.’
Carole Arnold, the Headteacher of Evelyn Primary School was delighted to get such positive feedback: “The secret of the school’s success is its pioneering and innovative curriculum which focuses on the needs of the individual pupil and his or her learning and thinking style. We aim to put all learning into a real life context.
“One example of this is the school’s links with local partners including Everton FC, Knowsley Safari Park and Edge Hill University, Morgan Est and Renaissance Health Centre.
“At a business breakfast seminar, organised by the school, children from the school council were given the opportunity to interview representatives from local employers to identify the skills needed to succeed in their particular profession. The conclusions were then integrated into the curriculum.
“I’d like to offer my congratulations to the staff, pupils and their families along with the school’s governors and thank them for their hard work.”
