Things to do cycling contentAs well as being a fun activity to take part in with your family and friends, cycling keeps you fit and healthy.

Cycling to school, college or a friend’s house is a great way of achieving your hour a day of physical activity.

Safety first

Always make sure that you stay safe by following these handy hints and tips:

  • Always wear a helmet.
  • Cycle with friends or family.
  • Choose well lit or busy routes and stay away from traffic.
  • Make sure your bike has lights for when it gets dark.
  • Wear reflective clothing.
  • Always tell your family which route you will be taking.
  • Make sure your bike is in safe working order and get it checked regularly.
  • If you carry a rucksack, wear it on your back strapped to two shoulders, not one.  It’s better for your back, and safer for you!
