Chatrooms and forums can be fun, but you need to think about the fact that you can’t ever know who you’re really chatting to if you’ve never met them in real life.Would you hand out your mobile number to a stranger on the street? No, you wouldn’t – but that’s exactly what you’d be doing if you gave it to someone you met online.
The Kidsmart website has real-life stories about the dangers of chat rooms. Make sure you’re aware of the dangers and stick to their SMART rules.
