At school special education contentSpecial Educational Needs (SEN) is a term used to describe pupils who find it more difficult to learn than other children.  This may be because of a disability or learning difficulty and the ability to cope with:

  • All of the work in school.
  • Reading, writing, number work or understanding information.
  • Expressing themselves or understanding what others are saying.
  • Making friends or relating to adults.
  • Behaving properly in school.
  • Organising themselves.
  • Some kind of sensory or physical needs which may affect them in school.
Pupils with SEN will be given extra help and support at school, which will help them to succeed and perform well at school.
