The funbus and family learning

Play and do - fun busPlay

The funbus offers play opportunities for children aged 2 to 4 years in the North Huyton Sure Start area who are not accessing any play services. The activities help to develop social, mathematical, language and physical skills as well as knowledge and understanding.

Your child must be registered to attend the two hour play session, which is delivered by qualified play staff and nursery nurses.

Visitors to the funbus include:

  • Knowsley library service
  • Sure Start toy library
  • Sure Start portage worker
  • New deal for communities and Sure Start speech and language therapist

The funbus also attends fun days such as the Knowsley flower show, national play day and cultural days.

Family learning

The ‘share family learning’ programme helps you to develop quality fun activities to engage with your children. Themes may include early years play, healthy living and early years life skills.

You also have the option for your work to be accredited by the Merseyside Open College Network (MOCN) and these courses provide you with the opportunity to access further education and training if you choose.
