Helping your children with homework encourages them to develop positive attitudes to learning in and out of school.  It also means you’ll get to know what they are studying.

 

As your child gets older, they will be expected to complete homework on their own, but you can still encourage them by making sure they are organised and provide equipment and a quiet place to work.

 

Most schools issue a homework diary where children write down what work has been set and when it’s due.  You should check it weekly and sign it if the school asks you to.
