Adoption is a good way of giving your baby the best start in life if you feel that you are not in the right situation to raise a child. Adoption ends the legal relationship between the child and the birth parents and begins a new one with the adoptive parents.

 

Putting your child up for adoption is a major decision, and should not be taken lightly.  You need to be certain that you are doing the right thing for you and your baby and be 100% sure of your decision. Once granted, an adoption order is final and cannot be undone.

 

Before making a decision, you should find out as much information as possible.  Discuss your situation with family and friends or speak to an adoption agency or a social worker at your local council for advice. They will explain what would happen if you were to go ahead with the adoption.
