Special educational needs
If you find it more difficult to do schoolwork than your classmates, or have a disability, you may have ‘special educational needs’ (SEN).
You are not alone. Many children will have SEN at some point in their school life. Your teacher or mentor will support you with extra help with the following:
- school work
- reading, writing, and numbers
- expressing yourself
- making friends or relating to adults
- behaving properly in school
- organising yourself
- sensory or physical needs which may affect your learning
Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you are finding it difficult to learn. Talk to your parents and teachers and take the first steps together.
