Navigation

There are a number of ways of finding your way around Knowsleyspace and finding the information you are looking for.

Keyword search

At the top of the right hand menu is a keyword search box. If you type in words or phrases related to the information you are looking for into this box and press ‘search site’ you will be shown a list of links to relevant pages in the website.

All results are accompanied by a symbol representing the section of the site the information belongs to.

A-Z index and sitemap

The A to Z index contains entries for all pages in the website, organised in alphabetical listings. The sitemap provides a higher-level view of the sites content.

Global navigation

The global navigation can be found in the left column. This is also the top level of main site navigation. When a global navigation item is selected all related sub-links should appear in the left column (level two navigation).

When you have clicked a link in the left hand navigation and arrived at a content page, additional content relating broadly to the topic or service you have chosen will be accessible via links in the right hand menu.

See 'Site structure' above for details of global navigation sections.

Breadcrumb Trail

The middle column displays the breadcrumb trail. The breadcrumb trail is a navigation aid that shows you where you are on the website and allows you to quickly access upper levels of the site.

Service directory search

The help4me service directory allows you to search for services available to children, young people, families and professionals quickly and easily.

The directory can be searched using a combination of keywords, phrases, location and category. Results are provided in a Google style with full information accessible by choosing a service.

Links

Many pages contain links in the text taking you to external websites and other pages within this website. Associated and external links can also be found in the right hand menu of content pages. All links to external websites will open in a new window.
