Effective supervision
Effective Supervision to Safeguard Children (Course Code: SCBES1)
Dates: 23, 24 March, 12 and 13 May 2010
Venue: Brothers of Charity, Thingwall Hall
This is a multi-agency course for supervisors who have responsibility for staff working with vulnerable children, or the parents/carers of vulnerable children. This can include professionals who have a supervisory responsibility in social care, health, criminal justice or education settings.
Aim of the Course
The course is designed to be delivered over 3 modules:
- Module 1 provides an introduction to supervision, including Kolb’s reflective practice cycle. This is taught over 2 days.
- Module 2 requires participants to put their learning in to practice in the work place by undertaking two assignments.
- Module 3 reflects upon practice learning in module 2 and focuses upon the links between supervision and assessment. This is taught over 2 days.
Please note that participants who do not complete their Module 2 practice learning will not be accepted on to Module 3.
