Training
Knowsley Safeguarding Children Board has agreed a training charging policy. All courses will continue to be provided free of charge to KSCB member organisations. However, costs will be incurred for late cancellation or non-attendance at training events. All applicants will be required to provide a budget code or invoicing information on their course application in the event of a charge being incurred.
Where an applicant cancels their training two weeks or less before the date of the course, or does not attend on the day, a charge of £75 per full day or £40 per half day or part of will be incurred. Exemptions will only be for applicants whose cancellation is due to sickness, verified by their line manager.
Cancellation process
The process for cancellation of places on KSCB training courses is as follows. The course applicant's line manager should notify KSCB of the reason for cancellation in writing, preferably via email. For cancellations 2 weeeks or less before the training is due to take place the applicant's line manager should contact the KSCB Training and Development

Safer recruitment in schools (course code SCBSR1)
A course for staff and governors involved in the recruitment and appointment of staff working on school sites.
Safer Recruitment – Generic Children’s Workforce (SCBSR2)
This is a multi-agency one day course for those involved in the recruitment and appointment of staff within the children’s workforce.
Safer Recruitment – Early Years (SCBSR3)
This is a one day course for those involved in the recruitment and appointment of staff within Early Years in the Private and Voluntary Sectors.
Serious Case Review Workshop SCBCD3
This workshop is part of our ongoing series reflecting the learnings from local, regional and national Serious Case Reviews. This is a multi-agency course for frontline practitioners and line managers.
Effective supervision
This is a multi-agency course for supervisors who have responsibility for staff working with vulnerable children, or the parents/carers of vulnerable children.
Annual Safeguarding Children Conference
This annual multi-disciplinary conference brings together those staff working with children and young people across a diverse range of services in Knowsley to learn together and to share experience and good practice.
Working together to safeguard children (course code SCBWT1)
A mandatory multi agency course for social workers, health visitors and more.
Safeguarding adults and children alerter workshop (course code SACBA1)
This workshop is recommended for all staff and volunteers working with the general public, or with more specific groups of service users or clients.
Safeguarding child victims of trafficking - E-learning package
This is a link to registration for a free e-learning programme to highlight some basic points about safeguarding child victims of trafficking. The course is part of ECPAT's training programme (End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and the Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes).
